La herramienta SWAD constituye un complemento para el aprendizaje tradicional
y cuenta con una aceptaci&oacute;n muy buena por parte de estudiantes y profesores
en la <a href="http://www.ugr.es/">UGR</a>.

Se ha <a href="http://swad.ugr.es/stat/">analizado el uso de la plataforma</a>
y se ha demostrado que los estudiantes utilizan frecuentemente
muchos de los servicios ofrecidos, principalmente la descarga de documentos de las asignaturas,
la consulta de calificaciones,
los ex&aacute;menes de tipo test y la mensajer&iacute;a interna.
Adem&aacute;s, se ha constatado que los estudiantes apenas necesitan instrucciones de uso.
</p>
<p align="justify">
Por parte de los profesores, podemos destacar que la utilizaci&oacute;n en las p&aacute;ginas de sus asignaturas de secciones
como las de enlaces, autoevaluaci&oacute;n,
consulta de calificaciones o foros de discusi&oacute;n es una idea contemplada en alguna ocasi&oacute;n por casi todos
y pocas veces desarrollada de forma particular.
El hecho de que estas y otras funcionalidades se incluyan en la plataforma
anima a su definitiva utilizaci&oacute;n.
Con la incorporaci&oacute;n de SWAD, la imagen de una asignatura mejora,
a pesar de no requerir mucho esfuerzo por parte del profesor.

SWAD es desde 2008 una de las tres herramientas de PRADO,
la plataforma de recursos de apoyo a la docencia de la UGR.
Desde 2010 es <a href="http://openswad.org/source/">libre</a> y puede utilizarse en cualquier instituci&oacute;n acad&eacute;mica.
Frente a otras herramientas usadas para el mismo fin,
debido a su <a href="http://openswad.org/source/">implementaci&oacute;n en lenguaje C</a>,
SWAD no requiere una gran infraestructura hardware y software,
ni siquiera en grandes universidades,
siendo suficiente un <a href="http://swad.ugr.es/server/">&uacute;nico servidor</a>.

En resumen, SWAD es una herramienta de gran utilidad
como un importante complemento a la docencia presencial,
