# SWAD user guide
## Roles
Each user has a role of student or teacher at each of the courses in which he/she is enrolled. In addition, some users may be administrators.
These are all available roles:
0. _Unknown_: User not logged in
1. _Guest_: User not belonging to any course
2. _Visitor_: Student or teacher in other courses but not belonging to the current course
3. _Student_: Student in current course
4. _Teacher_: Teacher in current course
5. _Degree admin_: Degree administrator
6. _Centre admin_: Centre administrator
7. _Institution admin_: Institution administrator
8. _System admin_: System administrator (superuser)
